If you've been asked to attend an independent medical assessment arranged by REI, this page will walk you through everything you need to know: before, during, and after your appointment.
We understand this may feel unfamiliar. Our team is here to make sure it isn't.
What to expect.
You'll receive confirmation details in advance: the date, time, location, and the name of the physician you'll be seeing. If you have any questions, you can call or email us directly.
During your assessment.
The physician will ask you about your medical history, current condition, and how it affects your daily life. They will not be treating you, as this is an assessment only. Be honest and thorough.
After your assessment.
The physician prepares a report based on the assessment. The report goes to the party who requested the assessment. You may request a copy through your adjuster or legal representative.
